A couple of long days

well I tried to post this earlier on the hotel computer but it didn't work so I'll try to re-create as best as I can. We started yesterday at the Scottish woolen mill which was really interesting. Laurel and I tried on authentic Scottish kilts and we looked pretty darn cute. It was a perfect day to ride on the bus because the weather was horrible. But as we crossed into England, the weather turned for the better. We arrived at a dairy farm just outside of Coventry for a farm tour. It was really fun learning about the similarities and differences in dairy farming. We were especially interested in the fact that they use potatoes in their TMR (total mixed ration for Dad =)) for energy. We then headed to a pub just down the road for dinner and played soccer with Archie and Susanna--two children related to the farmer. This morning we headed to Warwick Castle for a beautiful day! We toured the dungeon, the main house and the grounds. The 530 steps to the top of the main tower was our work-out for the trip. Derek almost punched a ghost woman in the 'ghosts of Warwick castle' show. We stopped at a service station for lunch and had KFC. We were super excited because it was our first American meal and we were really craving it. As we made our way into London, we could hardly control our excitement. We went on a fast bus tour to familiarize ourselves a wee bit with London. After checking in and settling into the hotel, we went had another American meal at a nice pizza place. Again, we were very excited with the meal choice. We walked around a sketchy shopping district and decided not to stay very long. A free day in London is the plan for us tomorrow and we can't wait! We've been having a blast and learning many new things in our travels but we miss all of you at home. We will try to keep you updated as much as possible. Missing and loving you all lots.
Love,
Amy and THE TEAM

Well, the home computer isn't doing any better then the one in your hotel, I too will try to recreate my post, no matter how little it contained!
So glad you guys found food that you loved!! Can't wait to hear if anyone is coming home with any new favorites from your travels.
What happened to the pictures? Are you having trouble posting them or just running out of time in your day? We at home are REALLY enjoying hearing about your days.........you'll never know how much we look forward to the next new posting. : )
Take it all in & take advantage of every new experience that comes your way.

I just wanted to let you all know, on behalf of all the 4-H educators, how proud we are to have you all representing us in Europe. We all knew you guys would do great with the judging and were so proud to hear that you guys were able to show off your skills while there. When I teach the class on dairy at the MD 4-H Teen Focus this week I will be sure to tell everyone how great you all did. Although I may only be Amy’s 4-H agent I know I can speak for the others when I say that you all are truly outstanding individuals. Have fun and I can’t wait to hear about more of your travels—Patrick

How nice to see my younger niece using the Scots "wee." You'll have to be deprogrammed in London. What'sketchy' shopping district was that, anyway? Try Harrod's - nothing sketchy there! Have une bonne vacance - and have Une Orangine pour moi en Paris. Love, Aunt P

Wanted to let Derek know that his great-grandfather (who still lives in the house he was born in 97 years ago!!) has asked how the trip was going, so Derek's grandmother made copies of all entries everyone has typed about the trip so far, so he could read them too. : )
Derek - Darin got a heifer calf.
I hope you're enjoying your roomate.
Really missing you!!!...especially your humor.
I'm sure Lion King will be amazing & more then you ever realized it would be.

honestly can you guys focus on nothing other than the food you're eating. Gare Bear thinks it's the only "G" rated material you can post...I just think it's the true Poffenberger coming out in Amy :-) Hope all is well!
